Our GDPR eBook is written to educate everyone on the regulations set out in the new EU data protection regulations. Gradually EU Directives (which required individual countries to approve them in their own legislative procedures) are being replaced by laws created by the new Superstate. The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR for short, is one such EU law. It replaces the former Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. It took four years to debate and was approved by the EU Parliament on the 14th of April 2016. It comes into force in all EU Member states on the 25th of May 2018.

GDPR & It’s Effect on Brexit

The impending Brexit does not absolve the British from the obligation to comply with GDPR now. After Brexit they will still have to comply when dealing with EU countries and will probably have to comply when dealing with British Companies too. Countries outside the EU have to abide by it when dealing with companies and organisations that are located in EU Member States
