Princess Diana was born on the 1st July 1961 in Sandringham, Norfolk. She lived with two sisters and a brother, Jane, Sarah and Charles. Diana did have another brother who she never met, unfortunately he died in infancy a year before Diana was born, his name was John.
Diana was born to the Spencer family, she and her family have royal ancestry, her father is John Spencer, Viscount Althorp and her mother is called Frances Shand Kydd, Diana was their youngest daughter. Diana became known as Lady Diana in 1975 when her father inherited the title, Earl Spencer. Diana’s father was also related to Sir Winston Churchill, whose great great grandfather changed his name from Spencer to avoid creditors. Diana and her family lived in Park House in Sandringham estate; the property belongs to Queen Elizabeth II, which the Spencer’s leased from the Queen.
Princess Diana focused a lot on health and serious illness, which included AIDS and leprosy, she did a lot of work fighting against the use of land mines and she campaigned to protect animals. In 1989 she became the president of Great Ormond Street hospital, she was a patroness who worked with charities who helped the homeless, drug addicts, teenagers and the elderly.
