At least 15,000 years ago the ancestors of Native Americans came to what is currently the United States of America. They lived in many different tribes across the land. The first successful colony in the United States was Jamestown, started in 1607 by around 100 people from England. Many English people came across the sea, after that, to settle in America. The Netherlands, Spain, and France also colonized North America where the United States is located. A lot of Native Americans were killed or displaced during these times.
Americans are known for being loud and friendly. The United States is also known as the “melting pot” as there are so many different cultures there. Around 71% of Americans say they are Christians.
