Why Do We Need Vitamins & Minerals?
Vitamins and minerals are essential nutrients that our bodies need on a daily basis. As our bodies are constantly producing muscle, skin and bone amongst other things, our bodies need at least 30 vitamins & minerals to help with these processes as they perform numerous roles.
There are two types of vitamins: Fat-soluble and Water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body and liver when foods that contain fat-solubles are consumed. They will remain in the body until they are needed. Water-soluble vitamins do not get stored but will travel through our bloodstream and whatever the body does not use will get released from the body, e.g. when we urinate which is why these vitamins frequently need to be replaced.
